Part 1. What is a Network Alert Condition?

The Network Alert Condition is a very flexible object that really could be broken into five distinctly different types of conditions which you can monitor (See Part 2 below).

To add a Network Alert Condition, in the Create / Edit Conditional Alert window click the + Network Condition button on the toolbar. To edit an existing condition you can click the PencilStub16  in the Conditions List.

This will bring up the Network Alert Condition window (see Part 2 below).

Part 2. Types of Network Alert Conditions?

As mentioned in Part 1 there are 5 different types of Network Alert Conditions in this version of the WinScry Client Console as you can see at the top of the Network Alert Condition window (see screenshot to the left). Click one of the links below for individual help on each type.

2.Network Device. Will attempt to do a DNS lookup for any network device (computers, NAS drives, printers, routers, etc.) every 3 minutes. A failure will Activate the condition, it will be triggered if it crosses the Trigger Threshold.

3.An Internet Website. Will ping a website every 3 minutes. A Ping failure will Activate the condition, it will be triggered if it crosses the Trigger Threshold.

4.FTP Folders. Will attempt to log in to an FTP site to a specific folder destination every 3 minutes. A failure will Activate the condition, it will be triggered if it crosses the Trigger Threshold.

5.TCP/IP Listener. Will attempt to open a connection to any HL7 standard TCP/IP Listener TCP/IP Address and Port number every 3 minutes. If successful the connection is immediately closed.  A failure will Activate the condition, it will be triggered if it crosses the Trigger Threshold.
